MISSION

AlmaCube is the Incubator of the University of Bologna , founded jointly with Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna and Fondazione Alma Mater to promote and sustain entrepreneurship in the local University system.

AlmaCube is strictly linked and connected with the StartCup business plan competition.

AlmaCube offers spaces and logistic services (i.e. internet connections, data communication infrastructures, general services etc.) as well as relational capital through direct links to local economic and political institutions and individual actors to young start-ups.

AlmaCube does not participate financially in the start-ups hosted, but actively promotes and facilitate funding contacts and processes with professional investors.

TARGET

AlmaCube can host up to sixteen new technology based start-ups, in twelveoffices of 20 sqmt. and  four of 40 sqmt.

A preferred evaluation is given to University originated projects. Other projects, however, will be considered as well to promote diversity and favor complementarity among the start-ups incubated.

Almacube hosts the initial phases of the startup process, but cannot host any production related activity or, more generally, the expansion of the business. The presence in the incubator is initially limited to one year, witha possible extension for another year under the discretional judgement of the Steering Committee.

AlmaCube does not focus on a specific industry or technological field to sustain the multiple disciplines of excellence of the University of  Bologna .

Particular attention will be paid to StartCup finalists.

In any case, to enter Almacube the applicants must have incorporated or be in the processes of incorporating a new company.

indicating on the envelope Application.

Prof. Gianni Lorenzoni, as Chairman of AlmaCube, will distribute the application to the members of the Steering Committee who will formulate their binding reccommendation within 30 days.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • Statute of incorporation;
  • If the company is currently being incorporated, in alternative to the previous document an indication of the timing of incorporation;
  • A copy of the Business Plan formulated following the model available here (download)
