Through a project-based approach, they identify potential application areas for technologies developed within the universities and research institutes of the Emilia-Romagna Region.<\/p><p><br \/>The goal of Tech Forward is to develop the entrepreneurial mindset of students and researchers while ensuring the valorization of innovative technologies developed by research groups at the University and research centers and their application to solve societal needs.<\/p><p><br \/>The program is taught entirely in English and providea an international experience at CERN Ideasquare. Six multidisciplinary teams of five master&#8217;s students from various universities in the region will be supported by local coaches, who will leverage the knowledge of university researchers during scheduled design sprints. Pa 2024-22855\/RER \u2013 Num. Progetto 1 \u2013 Tech Forward Student Program\/CUP: J31J24003680002<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"298\" data-end=\"622\">The TechForward Student Program establishes an Advanced Training Course dedicated to Master&#8217;s students from universities in the Emilia-Romagna region. Through a project-based approach, students identify potential application areas for technologies developed within universities and research institutes in Emilia-Romagna.The goal of TechForward is to foster the entrepreneurial mindset of students and researchers, while also ensuring the enhancement of innovative technologies developed by research groups and their application to address societal needs.<\/p><p data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"1224\">The project aims to make Emilia-Romagna a knowledge-driven region by promoting advanced education and encouraging young people to remain in the region after their studies\u2014potentially founding new companies that leverage the technologies explored. This strengthens the link between higher education and opportunities for specialization and professional development.Since the entire program is delivered in English, TechForward includes initiatives to attract international students and foster collaboration between institutions at both national and international levels, emphasizing its strategic relationship with CERN in Geneva. This includes seminars and networking activities to enhance the program\u2019s visibility and international scope. The project aligns with the region&#8217;s smart specialization strategy by promoting skills in key areas such as digital and ecological transition.<\/p><p data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"2147\">The program\u2019s methodology Tech to Market, developed by the University of Bologna\u2014is a hybrid model based on the human-centered Design Thinking approach and other Tech-Driven Innovation methods. Over 16 weeks, inter-university, multidisciplinary student teams examine cutting-edge technologies to identify their potential and develop impactful solutions to societal, human, and environmental needs. Six multidisciplinary teams, each consisting of five Master\u2019s students from different universities across the region, will be supported by local coaches. The process leverages the expertise of university researchers during scheduled design sprints. Progetto 1 \/ CUP J31J24003690002<\/b><\/p><p data-start=\"2818\" data-end=\"3008\">CERN Ideasquare Collision Week<br data-start=\"2852\" data-end=\"2855\" \/>During the CERN Ideasquare week, the TechForward project includes a series of structured activities designed to maximize student learning and innovation:<\/p><ul data-start=\"3010\" data-end=\"3672\"><li data-start=\"3010\" data-end=\"3245\"><p data-start=\"3012\" data-end=\"3245\">Workshops and Seminars: Students will attend workshops and seminars conducted by CERN experts, researchers, and scientists. Topics will include Design Thinking, technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3010\" data-end=\"3245\"><p data-start=\"3012\" data-end=\"3245\"><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Ideation and Prototyping Sessions: Student teams will engage in brainstorming and ideation to develop innovative concepts. They will then prototype their ideas using tools and resources available at Ideasquare.<\/span><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3246\" data-end=\"3462\"><p data-start=\"3248\" data-end=\"3462\">Meetings with CERN Scientists and Engineers: Students will have opportunities to meet and interact with various researchers to validate ideas and better understand the potential of specific technologies.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"3679\" data-end=\"3837\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"3679\" data-end=\"3837\">Visits to University Technology Labs<br data-start=\"3719\" data-end=\"3722\" \/>Throughout the program, students may arrange visits to university labs associated with the identified technologies.<\/p><ul data-start=\"3839\" data-end=\"4243\"><li data-start=\"3839\" data-end=\"3968\"><p data-start=\"3841\" data-end=\"3968\">Lab Visit: Researchers will provide guided tours of the labs, presenting the context in which the technology was developed.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3969\" data-end=\"4243\"><p data-start=\"3971\" data-end=\"4243\">Technology Presentation: Research groups will deliver in-depth sessions on the technology for the project teams, tailored for a multidisciplinary audience. Interactive and hands-on engagement will be encouraged to help students fully grasp the technological potential.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4250\" data-end=\"4435\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"4250\" data-end=\"4435\">Technology Deep Dive in Bertinoro (FC)<br data-start=\"4292\" data-end=\"4295\" \/>Students and researchers will spend a week exchanging knowledge on technologies at the University Residential Center of Bertinoro (Ce.U.B.).<\/p><ul data-start=\"4437\" data-end=\"4850\"><li data-start=\"4437\" data-end=\"4703\"><p data-start=\"4439\" data-end=\"4703\">Seminars: Students will attend sessions led by university researchers covering the basics of the technologies. Given the multidisciplinary nature of the teams, these sessions are essential for establishing a common understanding of the technologies\u2019 potential.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4437\" data-end=\"4703\"><p data-start=\"4439\" data-end=\"4703\">1:1 Meetings: Students will have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with researchers to deepen their understanding of the technologies.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4857\" data-end=\"4914\"><strong data-start=\"4857\" data-end=\"4914\"><br \/><\/strong>Models, Approaches, and Implementation Methodologies:<\/p><ul data-start=\"4916\" data-end=\"5613\"><li data-start=\"4916\" data-end=\"5168\"><p data-start=\"4918\" data-end=\"5168\">Design Thinking: The program utilizes the &#8220;Tech to Market&#8221; model developed by the University of Bologna, based on the human-centered Design Thinking approach.
