TECH2X
TECH2X PROJECT (Technology for innovation and entrepreneurship excellence)
Almacube is a partner of the TECH2X project (Technology for innovation and entrepreneurship excellence) – 9.2-0001-1028-1109.3 – EIT HEI Initiative.
The TECH2X project aims to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship capacity of the Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the consortium, in order to foster talent in deep tech and respond to the need for a transition towards the fourth-generation university model. Through practice-based collaborations and enhanced networking within, between, and beyond our institutions, with a focus on the climate and mobility sectors, we intend to create a scalable initiative for scientifically excellent innovation and entrepreneurship practices in Europe.
The project brings together a diverse group composed of four higher education institutions, an experienced innovation hub-incubator-accelerator, and a world-leading research organization, combining their respective expertise and resources to achieve the ambitious goals of the project. The collaboration is based on the strengths of business-oriented, technical, and multidisciplinary institutions, to address societal challenges and foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the deep tech sector.
The objectives are:
- to design and deliver comprehensive training and education programs on technology-driven (deep tech) innovation oriented towards a sustainable future;
- to develop structures and conditions to facilitate Innovation and Entrepreneurship capacities;
- to establish and enhance mechanisms and structures within the HEIs to enable individuals to create or develop their own enterprises/start-ups;
- to expand and enrich networks and connections within ecosystems;
- to disseminate successes and scale up initiatives within HEIs and broader partner networks.
To achieve these objectives, we will design and pilot new curricula for technology innovation courses and enhance the scope and impact of student engagement activities; we will define and implement common metrics to measure skill acquisition, as well as best practices and guidelines to facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship capacities. We will develop and test an incubation phase for projects as a continuation of the technology innovation courses, integrating training and mentoring activities specifically aimed at female entrepreneurs. We will encourage collaborations between KIC and non-KIC members for the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and establish new connections between HEIs, research centers, and ecosystems to reach industrial stakeholders. Finally, we will create impact through the promotion of success stories, local/regional demonstration events, and national peer-learning events for KTO (Knowledge Transfer Offices).
The main target groups of the project are teaching and research staff at HEIs, students, and entrepreneurship support/KTO-TTO offices. The actions and activities of TECH2X are designed to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship capacity at an institutional level, promoting pathways between challenge-based, technology-oriented innovation courses, and the development of entrepreneurial skills to advance promising projects.
